The story in Laurel Canyon is soap opera-ish and the main story arc is painfully predictable. Nonetheless I enjoyed it, mostly be Frances McDormand sucks you in with her charm. I'm not sure if it's her charm as an actor or as the charactor. Oh, and Kate Beckinsale is beautiful to the eye in this movie. And it's amusing when they film in easily recognizable locales.
If it has Christian Bale in it, I'm there. His work is amazing. Hope it's worth the rental.

With Netflix it's always "worth the rental". :-)
I didn't think Christian Bale did such a good job in Laurel Canyon; but he didn't have too much to work with and his character gets pretty annoying. Maybe it had more to do with that than him as an actor. :-)
