Final Arguments Underway in Dog Mauling Trial
Dogs are nice and all, but jeez. Get a clue. Some weeks ago LA Times had a moving account of the neighbor listining to Whipple being bitten up outside the door. Yuck. :-(
He said the entire tragedy began when Knoller and Noel became involved with two Pelican Bay State Prison inmates who had a plan to raise guard dogs for the benefit of the Aryan Brotherhood, a violent prison gang.
"These prisoners didn't choose poodles," he said. "They didn't chose lap dogs. They wanted tough dogs. Presa canarios were meaner than pit bulls."
Knowing all of that, he said, Knoller and Noel agreed to raise the dogs.
Iam in complete agreement with the theory that dogs of such an aggressive nature are ill fated companions and pose great risk to public safety,BUT we all must keep in mind that all dogs if improperly trained an socialized can be dangerous large or small.The key to dog safety country or city is vigilence training and sanity on the part of the owner,one who wishes an aggressive dog will inevitably create one.

stop being a fuckin pussy, get rid of the muts the lab/pit dog and the other dogs and get you a good home protector man.
a Dog is what it is trained to be!!! Punish the deed not the breed. I know mean pits and nice ones it is all in how you raise it. I am in the process of talking my dad into letting me get a rott. but he's very hesitant b/c of people who train them only for attack dogs. and not even basic obedience so they can control them. I love dogs and I currently own a lab/ german shepherd mix,who is as playful as can be but looks as if he would bite your head off. He is 85 lbs. of pure muscle, and all of it is sweet, yet he is still protective, but he doesn't take it to the limit. don't get a dog mainly for attacking people, b/c what is gonna happen when a 3 year old walks in your back yard and gets killed. I don't think you are prepared to deal with that I don't care how hard you act.
ANYONE who owns large dogs or dogs with a jaw capacity large enough to potentially kill a human irrespective of the dog's demeanor or personality in a city environment is either a fool or a psychopath.
Keeping a dog for protection is like walking around with a loaded gun.
If you feel unsafe in your environment then MOVE!
Dog's should primarily be kept for companionship not as an over-compensation for your own shortcomings.
